We started our journey June 27th and have seen a lot in only a week! We had a great evening in Nashville, we ate huge, yummy T-bone steaks, and Aunt Betty's famous Peach Fried Pies! We had a cool refreshing lemon ice as a before bedtime snack, and most of all enjoyed our time with Aunt Betty, Uncle Jim and Uncle Johnny!
Next, we stopped in Gadsden. Our drive to Gadsden seemed long and neverending, but we finally got there and unloaded the truck which contained furniture for my sister. We found Mom or Grandma and Grandaddy and enjoyed a quick stop overnight with them. We had a relaxing afternoon and enjoyed some yummy chinese for dinner. We had a good night of rest and packed up after lunch and got on our way to Birmingham.
In Birmingham, we arrived at Aunt Marie's. We enjoyed a relaxing evening and went to bed early because Monday would be a long day for Michael, Noelle, and I. We got up early and headed to Atlanta to the shipping center to ship our Honda to Germany. It took a little over 2hrs to get to the location but the process took 30mins or less. After that Michael and I enjoyed a pleasant lunch together with Noelle. We left the older kids with Aunt Marie and Paw Paw Kay so they could rest and gear up for another day of driving on Tuesday...next stop Mississippi.
In Mississippi, we stayed at Green Woods stables in Ocean Springs, MS right on the coast. The house was beautiful and it was full. We shared the four bedroom house with our friends from Houston. We enjoyed lots of laughter and fun, we listened to kids playing and complaining, we enjoyed yummy food and good company. The kids rode horses, rode a wave runner, and played at the beach, where Nathan got stung by a jellyfish! And then...
We found ourselves in Hattiesburg, MS. A place we had been before, so familiar once again. In the McLain home we enjoyed seeing faces of the many dear hearts who ministered to us and who God allowed us to minister to as well. These dear hearts were members of our sunday school class, they were our friends, they were are brothers and sisters, they were and they still are family, Our family! We were so blessed to get to catch up with them and share our Noelle with them and to see how their kids had grown and our kids had grown! We left Ms in Awe of the gifts God had given us by placing such special people in our lives, even if only for a short while, I was glad I had the time we had because now I can't imagine my life without those very people and what they have added to our story! Our journey has been so good and it keeps getting better...we head back to Birmingham.
Arrive in Bham 1am because we couldn't get out of MS, we weren't ready, we didn't have enough! We crash and sleep in until about 8am and get ourselves together, it is July 4th and we head to the river house to enjoy the fourth of July with family. We make it there by lunch and enjoy a long exciting, relaxing, pleasant day with Michael's brother and wife and their two girls, Aunt Marie, Paw Paw Kay, David, and his sons and Sidney. We enjoyed swimming in the river, barbecue, and fireworks. It was just simply a really good day. We head back to Bham to sleep and wake up to enjoy a relaxing day around the house(aunt marie's house) and will take it easy until Tuesday when we head to our next 5 day visit in Gadsden.
We have had smooth travel, happy travel companions, and lots of family and friends who love us and who have opened their homes and hearts to us. We are so blessed and thank God everyday for each of you!
I will post pictures soon. For now words must be enough!
