Paw Paw's Visit Continued...

The next day was a day of play around the house. We had sandwiches and caprese salad for lunch. It was relaxing and fun. Friday we had a picnic at the park. When Michael got home we went to Marina state beach for a nice walk. Then we went out to dinner and walked out onto Fisherman's wharf. We had MYO for dessert!

Saturday was full day. We started out at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, then we drove the beautiful 17-mile drive and ate our packed lunch, and then we went to the Carmel Mission, and then we drove out to Big Sur to Pfeiffer State Beach.  We headed back to Monterey and at Chili's for dinner! We went home got cleaned up and were fast asleep.

We woke up early to get ready for church. We had a great day at church and then after church we enjoyed a wonderful day with the Joneses in Carmel Valley! They have become our family here in Monterey. We had lunch, swam, and enjoyed some dessert poolside. We headed back to Seaside and had Chipotle for dinner and took Paw Paw to Target to get some stuff he wanted to have when he gets to Alaska to see his brother. We were all exhausted but thankful for another wonderful day.

For the 4th of July we had hoped to enjoy a parade and fireworks but neither one took place in Monterey this year. We did go to the festival downtown with the Griffin's and the kids played games and jumped in a bouncy house. We had lunch at R.G. Burgers and then went home to rest. We got back together around 6 P.M. for dinner. We had ribs, Trisha brought a shrimp boil, two pies, and I made potatoes, chips and dip, and lemon blossoms.  Our friends Aaron and Annette came over for dessert and fireworks in our backyard. We finished the evening watching the Nations capital fireworks and the big apple fireworks on T.V. The kids loved watching them on T.V.!  Our friends left and we put the kids to bed. Paw Paw finished packing and we all went to bed. His plane left Monterey at 5:30 A.M.  We had a wonderful visit with Paw Paw and are so glad he got to come all the way out here for a visit. We are glad he is visiting with his brother in Alaska now. We are looking forward to seeing family in December.
